According to the Institute for Management Development (IMD) “2019 World Competitiveness Yearbook”, Taiwan ranked 6th in the world in terms of health infrastructure. According to Numbeo’s Health Care Index 2020, Taiwan's healthcare system has been ranked No. 4 in the world for two years in a row, behind South Korea, Japan and Denmark. During the global pandemic period, Taiwan was ranked first place in the COVID-19 Recovery Index in more than 120 regions and countries, published by the Tokyo-based English-language news magazine "Nikkei Asia" in 2022.
