Field of interest: Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, Physical/Occupational Therapy, Exercise Science, Aging, etc. In recent years, Taiwan has actively developed the New Southbound Policy, aiming to penetrate the Southeast Asian market in the biomedical field. At the same time, many companies are expanding in Southeast Asia, where occupational safety and health issues in developing countries are gradually gaining attention. Taiwan boasts a well-established public health system and a sound occupational health system, which is particularly worth emulating for developing countries. This program will foster industry-academia collaboration and interdisciplinary teaching and research. Through factory visits, students will be trained to think diversely, gaining professional knowledge and skills. Additionally, it provides talent and further education channels for companies involved in the New Southbound development.
Content: This program includes various aspects, tailored to students' interests and levels:
Course Participation Courses will systematically introduce Taiwan's specialized public health system (options include international topic discussion, Migrant worker health, occupational medicine, Global health law, Smart healthcare, WHO issue etc.).
Field Visits Visits to relevant organizations (options include health institutions, long-term care organizations, labor safety agencies, factories, etc.).
Cultural Exploration
Eligibility:
1. Undergraduate or graduate international/overseas students, with priority given to those who have never been to Taiwan.
2. Has basic English conversation skills.
Proficiency in English is preferred.
Duration: 2 months (The period for coming to Taiwan is from September to November.)
Application fee USD$80 (Application fees are non-refundable if the applicant is not admitted.)
Subsidy: TWD$ 12,000 per month (prorated by days if the stay is less than one month).
Students are responsible for covering their own living expenses during their stay in Taiwan.
Expenses to be borne by the student
1.Quad or double room dormitory on campus (TWD$ 5000-8000/per month). You may also choose to stay off campus at your own arrangement.
2.Your own round-trip airfare, visa or ARC, and insurance.)
Period of Apply: From 1 June to 31 Aug. 2026.
Notice: Working is not allowed during your stay in Taiwan.
