Students will learn the fundamental concepts of cancer diagnosis and treatment, as well as the role of translational medicine in clinical applications. This part of the course mainly covers the basic theories of translational medicine, with a focus on molecular diagnostic methods and therapeutic strategies for cancer. In a laboratory setting, students will receive hands-on training in cellular and molecular biotechnology techniques, including PCR, gene expression analysis, protein analysis, antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) synthesis, and lectin analysis. They will also learn how these techniques are applied in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and other diseases, aiming to cultivate practical skills in translational medicine. Students will be organized to visit biotechnology companies in Taiwan to gain insight into how translational medicine is applied in product development within the industry. Short-term internship opportunities may be arranged to enhance students’ practical understanding and experience in the biotech sector.
