This project primarily targets students majoring in biotechnology, biomedical sciences, and biochemistry from India, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia. Based on the agricultural traditions of these countries, the project aims to explore the mechanisms by which plant-derived compounds interact with disease-related proteins.

To encourage English communication and academic exchange between Taiwanese students and international students, the program will integrate both groups in the learning process. The coursework will primarily consist of English-taught courses from the Department of Biomedical Sciences, including Advanced Molecular and Cell Biology, Nanomedicine, and Journal Club, as well as other English courses offered within the university.

In the laboratory, students will engage in teamwork across various research tasks, including microbial culture, protein expression and purification, structural analysis of proteins, and the investigation of the effects of phytochemicals. Research findings will be presented to faculty and students of the Department of Biomedical Sciences through oral presentations and poster sessions in English. Additionally, outdoor activities will be arranged to introduce interns to and immerse them in the local culture of Chiayi.
