Over decades of cancer research, humanity has yet to find an effective way to eliminate the life-threatening nature of cancer. Despite the development and application of various treatment modalities, the success rate of these treatments remains low due to individual patient differences, diverse cancer types, and the malignant progression of the disease. Precision medicine, tailored to individual patients, combined with emerging therapies, offers potential treatments with more effective outcomes. However, these approaches are often prohibitively expensive and inaccessible to the average person. Thus, the development of small molecule-based drugs for targeted therapy or strategies to enhance and optimize existing treatments remains crucial. Our laboratory focuses on the Tumor Biochemistry, particularly exploring new characteristics, mechanisms, or targets of cancer, and acquired unusual abilities under stress conditions, such as metastatic-like environments or drug-mediated resistance. These efforts aim to uncover innovative methods for cancer treatment. This program seeks to invite outstanding international students to Taiwan to engage in cancer research. Participants will learn fundamental techniques in cancer cell culture and conduct in-depth studies on the evaluation of cancer drug efficacy. By learning research skills in cancer drug optimization and development, we aim to attract these talented individuals to pursue graduate studies or related careers in Taiwan.
