The intern students will first undergo a 3-day training courses, learning the calibration and usage of microbalances and pH meters. Students will practice preparing buffers and use biogenic amines to perform reductive amination derivatization. Next, students will learn how to operate mass spectrometry instruments. In my lab, students will equip with an ABI 4000 triple quadrupole mass spectrometer, and a Thermo Quantum triple quadrupole mass spectrometer.
