Program: Platelets are important in various physiological and pathological conditions, including hemostasis, thrombosis, and cancer. Understanding the mechanistic insight of platelet biogenesis and signaling contributes to the development of effective therapy for thrombosis, thrombocytopenia, and cancer. We recently demonstrated that the bleeding tendency of patients with thrombocytopenia is associated with thromboxane A2-stimulated platelet ATP release. In this program, we will continue to investigate and transform the findings into clinical applications.
Key learning points: Expect to acquire knowledge and experimental skills in platelet analysis, and molecular and cellular biology.
