This project aims to equip participating students with foundational skills in generating high-order vector structured light fields with spatially non-uniform polarization distributions using solid-state laser systems. It further seeks to explore advanced applications, such as high-precision laser machining, super-resolution microscopy, and quantum communication utilizing entangled light sources. However, scaling the structured light sources developed in laboratory settings to practical applications remains a significant challenge, particularly in enhancing output power while maintaining the stability of the light field structure. To address this, the project will integrate laser gain crystal design, packaging techniques, and low-temperature cooling to optimize the output characteristics of structured light fields produced by solid-state lasers. Through this internship program, we aim to increase the interest of recruited international students in pursuing further graduate studies (master's and Ph.D. programs) in Taiwan, thereby contributing new talent to the country’s higher education research in optical physics.

The interns are asked to participate the following training program of OAM Lab:
1. Audit the course instructed by the PI in the department of physics.
2. Join the Lab meeting every week.
3. Build up the fundamental skills for cavity alignment, gain crystal and optical component management, and laser mode characterization, etc.
4. Experimental observation and measurement.
5. Data analysis
6. Numerical simulation
7. Literature survey
