We plan to design a time-of-flight mass spectrometer which can measure the charge number of flying charged particles and the flight time of ions. Our goal is to measure and monitor the mass distribution of nano-/microparticles in the environments, e.g. the bacteria, viruses, plastic, and aerosol particles. Our design can be potentially commercialized and developed as a very sensitive charge/mass sensor, measuring the ions in the mass range from MDa to GDa. The instrument can be widely used in many fields including pharmaceutical industry, semiconductor industry, and environmental sciences.
