Herbal medicine is currently widely used in health supplements. This project aims to educate students in developing herbal products as functional foods.
The curriculum includes:
1. Extracting and isolating the active components of herbs, learning the skills of column chromatography.
2. Quantitative analysis of the active ingredient content in herbs, understanding the principles of HPLC operation.
3.Screening for anti-inflammatory activity of herbs and learning cell culture techniques.
