Getting to know about HHL Group:
Dr. Liao’s research group focuses on organic synthesis and catalysis. Specifically, his research is directed toward developing fundamental new strategies that can revolutionize how we conduct the asymmetric synthesis of chiral molecules, being both step-economical (iterative synthesis) and environmentally benign (photocatalysis). This will provide considerable efficiency savings in terms of workforce, chemicals, and waste generated. This research will involve a collaborative network of chemistry, photophysics, computational chemistry, and chemical biology to realize a new synthetic methodology for the asymmetric synthesis of complex molecules and define their potential applications in drug design and chemical biology.

Scholarship/Grants
As a part of the TEEP program, you'll be receiving a monthly scholarship based on the availability of the budget to help you with your living expenses. This includes accommodation, transportation, meals, and more. We extend a warm invitation to applicants who wish to pursue their PhD studies in the HHL group. We highly recommend applicants who are inclined towards research opportunities with us, although senior undergraduate, master, and PhD students are also welcome to apply.
