Brief introduction of the program: We would like to investigate the passivation layers of passivated emitter and real cell (PERC) Si solar cells. Students need to apply laser-fired contact (LFC) technology to optimize the electrodes of the three most mainstream solar cell structures in the future: PERC, TOPCon, and SHJ. Students need the have the background knowledge of mechanisms of Si solar cells. We have Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) system to deposit Al2O3 passivation layer. Scholarship/Grants: The support is for students for USA or Central and Eastern European Students in principle.
The scholarships monthly allowance of NTD $15000 is provided for at most 6 months for each student. However, TEEP students need to pay the internship fee NTD $ 1000/ per 10 days to our school (NDHU). Participation requirements: We are seeking students who wants to pursue a master's or doctoral degree in our laboratory. Although our department (Department of Opto Electronic Engineering) does not offer a doctoral degree, we encourage interns to participate in the international student admission process for the master's and doctoral programs in the Department of Physics of our university. The advisor will serve as co-advisors and assist in finding an advisor within the Department of Physics. Proficiency in English is needed.
