This project aims to cultivate students’ skills in using artificial intelligence models and developing AI systems that can assist in defect detection of industrial product. It is applied to the semiconductor or other electronic industries related to smart manufacturing. The main target students could be from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Engineering, or related fields.

The project period is 1 to 6 months, and students will receive a monthly scholarship of NTD 20,000. Students can find accommodation near the school or in the school dormitory at their own expense. The project will be executed in cooperation with enterprises. Students will conduct their projects in the form of a technical report. In school, professors will teach short courses on AI model theory and application-related fields. In the enterprise, students will learn practical techniques and complete their projects. The direction of the thesis research will be based on solving the issues raised by the cooperating enterprise.

Students who complete the cultivation will be encouraged to apply for Taiwan’s master’s or PhD’s degree program, or to encourage cooperative enterprises to hire students to work in the field of smart manufacturing.
