Our overarching mission is to unearth bioactive chemical compounds from natural sources and foster a platform for professional training and knowledge exchange across three foundational pillars:
- Proficiency in Plant Material Extraction and Compound Elucidation: This encompasses mastering diverse chromatographic techniques, expert-level compound purification, and comprehensive structural elucidation.
- Leveraging Cutting-Edge Bioinformatics Tools: We facilitate the utilization of advanced bioinformatic resources like ChemGPS-NP, GNPS, and molecular docking to streamline the exploration of novel crude or purified drugs.
- Active Engagement in Research and Development: Our program actively involves students in research and development, focusing on the synthesis and semi-synthesis of bioactive compounds.
Realizing the Gains: Upon their induction into our laboratory, TEEP students are expected to dive headfirst into hands-on experimentation, honing their personal skill sets and gathering invaluable data to contribute to either their individual research projects or collaborative initiatives.
Execution Plan: Our students will actively participate in practical laboratory work, enroll in meticulously tailored courses and lectures offered by our institute, and engage in fruitful collaborations with laboratories across diverse fields.
Strategic Implementation: As part of our meticulous plan, students are designated a dedicated week for acclimatization, in-depth discussions regarding their chosen research topics, and the critical task of conducting comprehensive literature searches. Following the concrete selection of their research themes, our laboratory will thoughtfully appoint a senior researcher to provide hands-on guidance. This support encompasses the extraction and isolation of suitable plant materials and the execution of sophisticated bioinformatics analyses.
