Internship Overview: Biophysics mass spectrometry (BMS) lab at National Dong Hwa University offers the opportunity to explore the advanced mass spectrometry techniques and nano-technology for bio-systems.
About BMS Lab: We focus on the development of novel mass spectrometric methods for rapid identification of viruses, bacteria, cells, and on development of linear ion trap mass spectrometer for detection of large proteins and polymers. Identification of microorganisms using mass spectrometry techniques and nanoparticle systems, such as nanodiamonds and metal-organic framework (MOF) particles. MALDI sample preparation, high mass polymer analysis, quantification of polyhydroxy butyrate polymer from cells, and development of new ionization methods are conducted in BMS lab. Recently, we also developed sensitive charge detector technology to explore the electrospray ionization process.
