Since 2010, our work focused on the exploration of the metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) and the intervalence charge-transfer (IVCT) excited state behaviors of the Ru-(aromatic-ligand) type complexes, including:
(1) the first report of the MLCT phosphorescence phenomenon for the type of rutheniumammine-(monodentate-aromatic ligand) complex series;
(2) the reporters for the modeling of spin-orbit coupling mediations of phosphorescence intensity stealing (SOCM-IS) from efficient singlet excited-states focused on the 77K observations of the MLCT Ru-(2,2’-bipyridine) complex series. The expression of SOCM-IS based on the Einstein’s formalism of dipole-allow model and the spin-orbit coupling mechanics;
(3) the phosphorescence excited-state quench model of Ru-(2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine) chromophore type complexes based on the 77K observations and DFT modeling; and
(4) some work focused on the photo-induced charge-transfer behaviors of the mono-Ru- and multi-Ru-aromatic type complexes.
