Given the ongoing threats from new and recurrent viruses, especially RNA viruses, to various species, it is essential to continually advance antiviral treatments. Understanding how viruses replicate within host cells and interact with them is crucial for identifying key targets in developing antiviral medications. We aim to Identify critical factors involved in the coordination of essential RNA processing steps, which could potentially lead to the discovery of new therapeutic targets and provides a new avenue for future research in the field of antiviral therapeutics. Joining our program offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in basic experiments essential for characterizing molecular virology. This includes learning molecular cloning, nucleic acid manipulation for diagnosis, and conducting classical western blotting to detect crucial host and viral proteins. Additionally, you'll have the chance to explore the dynamic interplay of proteins and RNA using a fluorescence microscope.

The scholarship for this program is 15,000 NTs per month, and we provide housing; however, accommodation fees are the responsibility of the student. The program allows for a stay of up to 6 months in Taiwan. We encourage participants to consider visiting during the summer vacation period, as this may provide opportunities for additional guidance from fellow students.
