Our laboratory is currently engaged in the development of green technology and sustainable energy, which includes the development of highly selective but low-energy-consumption forward osmosis membranes and water recycling technology. Additionally, we are working on the extraction of high-value platform chemicals from waste biomass and the production of renewable energy through torrefaction to obtain high quality biochar. These efforts align with the two main focuses of our project: "green energy technology" and "circular economy."

We plan to recruit undergraduate, master, or early-stage doctoral students from relevant disciplines in various countries for a 6 month research training program. We will specifically consider (but not restrict) candidates from the Department of Environmental Engineering, Chemical engineering, and Chemistry. The goal of this program is to cultivate students' research capabilities and expand opportunities for international exchange between two universities. The qualified applicants are encouraged to explore their interest for pursuing further academic degree(s) in Taiwan.

The Principal Investigator can offer the suitable candidate a scholarship of 12,000-15,000 NTD per month based on performance starting from our agreed date and finish the intern by the end of 2024. The candidate has to deal with the flight ticket and all the living expenses in Taiwan, which is not high in Kaohsiung.

If the candidate really like his/her study here, he/she is highly recommended to apply for the master (or Ph.D.) program in NKUST. After passing the verification, the candidate will become the master (or Ph.D.) student and can get the scholarship from NKUST for the first year. The candidate will be reviewed for his/her performance annually for getting the scholarship for the following year until the 4th year in NKUST.
