The main purpose of this project is to recruit three graduate students or university graduates from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Indonesia, for a lab exchange project. This project focuses on learning social network analysis and scholarly big data at National Chung Hsing University (NCHU).

The topics will primarily focus on various hot issues of e-learning research, such as generative AI-supported e-learning. UGM is ranked 1st in Indonesia and 231st in the world, according to the 2023 QS World Universities Ranking report. On October 20, three professors from UGM, including Dr. Endang Soelistiyowati (Vice Dean for Cooperation & Alumni), Dr. Nuryuda Irdana (Head of the Department of Languages, Arts, and Culture Management), and Dr. Nur Rokhman (Head of the Department of Information and Medical Services), visited NCHU. During the meeting, collaborations were discussed, including lab exchange, project-based learning programs, dual-degree programs, and research collaboration among professors in both universities.

Applicants for lab exchange are required to participate in the lab activities (such as lab meetings and discussions) and are encouraged to enroll in courses related to social network analysis and scholarly big data. They shall explore innovative ways in scholarly networks on AI and GAI-supported e-learning research, particularly networks of Indonesian and Taiwanese researchers, to foster connections between the two countries. At the program's end, applicants must present their experiences and related work. The applicants will be hosted by the Graduate Institute of Library & Information Science at NCHU and will be supervised by the project investigator, Dr. Kai-Yu Tang.

Applicants can apply for this program for a maximum of 3 months. The period for this program is from 2024/03/01 to 2024/06/01 (during the spring semester of 2024, National Chung Hsing University). Those applicants who plan to pursue a master's degree (or Ph.D. degree) in Taiwan are especially welcome.
