Understanding the global scale and market development potential of the aquarium industry, the European Union and North America are identified as the largest consumption regions and consumer bases, respectively. In contrast, Asia supplies over 52% of freshwater ornamental fish and 90% of marine ornamental organisms to the global aquarium market. We aim to recruit participants who are interested in breeding and husbandry techniques for ornamental aquariums, as well as those seeking to understand international market dynamics and apply aquaculture technology to the ornamental aquarium industry.

Through the support of project funding and leveraging my extensive experience and resources in operating the Ornamental Aquarium and Aquatic Ecology Research Laboratory, I aim to provide participating students with the following resources: Laboratory seminars, experimental observations, and training in the husbandry of aquatic organisms. Industry visits for hands-on learning (such as visits to ornamental aquarium trade and breeding facilities). Training in writing popular science articles. Training in academic journal article writing and submission. Immersive experience and learning of life in Taiwan.

During the learning/observation and visitation period in Taiwan, we can offer the following assistance: Project scholarship (12,000 NTD/month), covering living expenses in Taiwan (e.g., accommodation, transportation, and meals).

Duration of study: 6 months. Assistance in arranging on-campus accommodation. Other necessary support for daily life. Lab trips, visits, and gatherings." (Note: The scholarship amount mentioned is just an example and may need adjustment based on actual costs and budget considerations.)

Prospective members interested in joining the program are requested to provide the following information:
1.Personal resume.
2.Current status and desired learning objectives regarding the development of ornamental aquariums in their respective countries.
3.Brief research proposal, including details of academic courses, laboratory studies, and industry observations.
4.Curriculum vitae.
5.Plan for daily life during the stay in Taiwan.
