Energy crisis and health care are two major challenges of our society with increasing population and growing economy. With the aid of modern material technology, such as supercapacitor, biosensors, photocatalytic hydrogen production and environmental remediation, we can mitigate the negative impact to the globe and maintain a sustainable energy source and ecosystem in a cost-effective way. National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) has grown tremendously and recognized as one of Taiwan's important research and learning institution with international distinction. NSYSU is ranked in the top 1% by ESI in the fields of materials science and chemistry. The NSYSU campus is uniquely situated at the crossing of hills and sea, and adjacent to the Kaohsiung Harbor. The spectacular beach offers a natural venue for recreation and water sports, and the sunset is the most popular scenery sought by tourists from all over the world. In this program, we provide research internships for elite international students to learn and study advanced nanomaterials science in NSYSU. Students in this program will be assigned to work independently on their own study projects on nanomaterials science for various energy applications or bioapplications as phase I training. After completion of phase I training, students can get familiar with on-site professional skills and/or enhance their phase I achievements. This professional internship usually last for 3-4 months.
