Traditional herbal medicine exerts an important impact on the prevention and treatment of diseases. Natural products and their derivatives targeting specific receptors or signaling molecules significantly contribute to pharmacology and drug discovery. Our team uses pharmacology and phytomedicine approaches to delineate molecular mechanisms underlying the inflammatory responses of neutrophils and discover targets for treating neutrophil-associated acute respiratory distress syndrome, psoriasis, diabetics, and arthritis. Bioassay-guided isolation and identification of natural compounds against neutrophilic inflammation are performed in my lab. We pursue collaboration with domestic and foreign colleagues to discover drug-lead compounds with specific targets from natural compounds for neutrophilic inflammatory disorders and immune disorders. We offer international students on-campus accommodation and scholarships (NT$ 15,000 per month).
