Owing to the extensive consumption of limited natural fossil fuels in the past decades, the sustainable development of green renewable energy sources is quite urgent and necessary. In addition to green renewable energy sources, the development of efficient and cost-effective energy storage devices is essential for the reliable transmission and distribution of electrical energy sources to the demands of a variety of applications. Laboratory of Interfacial Electrochemistry, led by Prof Jeng-Yu Lin, welcomes interested international students to do internships at Tunghai University.

Our main research interest is to develop various electrochemical energy storage/conversion devices, including (i) high-power supercapacitors; (ii) metal-ion batteries (Li-ion, Na-ion, Mg-ion, and Zn-ion); (iii) electrocatalysts for N2 reduction, urea oxidation, and water splitting.

The accepted students will have the opportunity to learn and improve their experimental skills in (i) design and synthesis of nanostructured materials, (ii) chemical and material characterizations, (iii) assembly of prototype electrochemical devices; (iv) fundamental investigation of energy storage/conversion mechanisms using in-situ Raman, XRD, FTIR and EC-MS instruments. International students with an engineering/science background are welcome to apply for the TEEP fellowship. If you have any questions about our lab/university, don't hesitate to contact me directly via email.
