Department of Mechanical Engineering focuses on educating students to excel in the mechanical engineering profession by integrating the hands-on practice with fundamental theories. Through organized and extensive training, the students will be the leading members of mechanical design, manufacturing, management, quality control, and control professional fields. The training is focused on Mechatronics technology and Precision Manufacturing technology. We combine excellence in education and research with service to society. The Department consistently reviews the curriculum to make improvements and maintain the standards of the IEET Educational Accreditation for all programs it provided.

Currently, more than 140 international students are registered in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Among these students, approximately 50 students are pursuing master's degree. The ME department offers FULL ENGLISH Program in MS and dual degree BS program. This program is designed for students from abroad who are interested in exploiting the technology and culture in Taiwan. Students will have hands-on experience with variety of smart machinery along with weekly tour visiting collaborative industrial partners.
