All international students (graduates without PhD) are welcome to the Research Center on AI and Sustainable Development at the National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan for a research internship of 2 months to 6 months. The research will be mainly conducted at the university lab, but in collaboration with the industry such as Vpon Big Data, Marvel Intelligence Technology, Tata, Tech Mahindra, etc. The topics of research internship include AI, sustainable development (especially SDG 11 which is sustainable smart communities), AIoT design, applied to traffic and environment pollution detection and prediction.

We have an "Integrated Command and Control Center for Sustainable Smart Cities" at CCU, which has a cloud-based platform for experiments and research projects. The platform is based on open source tools such as Kubernetes, Kubeflow, and KServe. We focus on Trustworthy AI and Sustainable Development Goals. We work on data/model governance, deep neural network models for de-raining, de-fogging, multi-camera vehicle tracking, air pollution (PM2.5, PM10, AQI) detection based on images captured using drones, water pollution detection, etc. We also work on medical image segmentation using UNet models for abdomen haemorrage, liver tumors, etc. Students from Computer Science background or Information Management background can apply.
