Come learn and work with Taiwanese students of your age in the field of teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) to children and teenagers in Taiwan. A 4-week intensive course that invites you to immerse in the experiential learning of Mandarin and Taiwanese culture as well as a series of practical TEFL sessions will familiarize you with the know-how of living and teaching in Taiwan, followed by 1 to 5 months internship in elementary and high schools in Yilan, Taiwan. Through the well-designed lessons, fun field trips and inspiring cultural workshops, our Chinese language and culture program will enable you to know better about Taiwan, acquire Mandarin language skills, and experience the beauty of Taiwanese culture whereas our fully-fledged TEFL program offers insightful seminars and practical hand-on activities that can well equip you with the most essential knowledge and skills you need for teaching English in Taiwan. In particular, with the companionship of your Taiwanese paired buddies who are students from National Ilan University (NIU), Taiwan, this journey of yours can no doubt enrich your learning experiences and enhance your global and cross-cultural competencies to the fullest. Applicants who are native speakers of English are preferred. We offer a monthly subsidy of NT$15, 000 that you can use to cover your partial airfare, on-campus accommodation and/or other expenses of staying in Yilan, Taiwan.
