The program gives the applicants opportunities to engage in forefront research of 2D materials, e.g., transition metal dichalcogenides (TMD). Possible projects include molecular beam epitaxy of TMD ultrathin films and heterostructures, or scanning probe studies of such materials. Instruments available are MBE systems, scanning probe systems (AFM, STM), optical studies (Raman, PL). The applicants will also learn the techniques of ultrahigh vacuum sciences. Highly self-motivated students with proper background in physics, chemistry, materials, engineering are welcome to apply. The internship is project-based. Applicants receive TEEP stipend and are eligible for on-campus NTU dormitory accommodation.
