Quantum computing and high-frequency communication technologies (mmWave, THz) promise to be the game-changer technologies to satisfy high-performance computing and low-latency communications demands in B5G/6G networks. However, there are new severe threats to user privacy and national security, e.g., signal-based tracking or quantum attacks on public-key cryptosystems. Further, the popularity of AI in many smart applications (autonomous driving, automated industrial control) raises a fear that adversarial attacks against AI can cause devastating consequences.
In order to enhance security in emerging technologies, our lab focuses on two research topics:
(1) AI for Cybersecurity: Developing self-learning models for DDoS defense/wireless physical layer security/ quantum-resistant models.
(2) Cybersecurity for AI: Protecting critical applications from adversarial attacks Internship students will attend several lab meetings, read/survey international papers, and conduct small projects.
Students interested in pursuing a master's or Ph.D. degree at CCU are highly recommended. Internship candidates can be post-graduate students (holding a BS/EE degree), or third/fourth-year undergraduate senior students. We expect an internship period of up to 6 months. For any reason, candidates may email the professor to set a flexible period, but not less than eight weeks.
