Traditional herbal medicine exerts important impact in the prevention and treatment of diseases. Natural products and their derivatives targeting specific receptors or signaling molecules have significant contribution in the pharmacology and drug discovery. Our team uses pharmacology and phytomedicine approaches to delineate molecular mechanisms underlying the inflammatory responses of neutrophils as well as discovers targets for treating neutrophil-associated acute respiratory distress syndrome, psoriasis, diabetics, and arthritis. Bioassay-guided isolation and identification of natural compounds against neutrophilic inflammation is performed in my lab. We pursue collaboration with domestic and foreign colleagues to discover drug lead compounds with specific targets from natural compounds for neutrophilic inflammatory disorders. We have on-campus accommodation and scholarships (NT$ 15,000 per month) for international students.
