This research project investigates the design of stimulus-responsive, bio-based aerogels for targeted waste liquid remediation and closed-loop recycling. Open to upper-level graduate and PhD students in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields with English proficiency, the program requires a minimum laboratory commitment of two months. Selected interns receive a monthly living stipend alongside fully covered lab materials and priority access to subsidized campus dormitories, while participants cover personal airfare, visas, and international health insurance. Throughout the program, participants synthesize functionalized aerogel matrices, evaluate contaminant separation efficiency, and test multi-cycle reusability, culminating in a comprehensive final report and research seminar.
