This carefully designed TEEP programme is designed to provide an outstanding and motivated international student with a comprehensive and hands-on research experience in the area of pharmaceutics, with a specific emphasis on respiratory drug delivery. Hosted at the Taipei Medical University School of Pharmacy, this programme aims to cultivate future researchers and innovators by combining rigorous scientific training with cultural immersion in Taiwan. Through this programme, the visiting student will gain firsthand exposure to cutting-edge pharmaceutical technologies and witness how innovation in Taiwan’s biomedical sector contributes to global health and medicine. The experience is expected to ignite enthusiasm for pharmaceutical R&D and demonstrate the exciting possibilities of interdisciplinary collaboration between pharmaceutical science and engineering.
At the end of the programme, the student is expected to:
• Acquire practical laboratory skills and understand the fundamentals of formulation science, particle engineering, and the design of inhaled drug delivery systems.
• Develop research independence by conducting an individual project under supervision while operating within a multidisciplinary research team.
• Gain insights into the process of drug development, from conceptualisation to formulation, physicochemical characterisation, and assessment.
• Enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills through experimentation, data collection, and interpretation.
• Build communication skills through discussions and presentations.
Strengthen cross-cultural awareness and international scientific collaboration, fostering long-term academic and professional connections.
Furthermore, the programme promotes reflection on personal growth, helping the student clarify their career aspirations in the pharmaceutical or biomedical industry. There will be opportunities for engagement, such as cultural exchange activities, field trips, and social networking events.
