This project aims to develop a digital twin platform for simulating the complex radiation environment encountered by satellites and CubeSats in low Earth orbit. Using the Geant4 Monte Carlo toolkit, students will model interactions between energetic protons, heavy ions, and spacecraft materials to evaluate single event effects (SEE) and total ionizing dose (TID) in microelectronics. The project integrates spectral decomposition, shielding optimization, and data comparison with NASA/ESA radiation models. TEEP students will gain hands-on experience in space radiation modeling, Monte Carlo coding, and reliability analysis of electronic components for space missions.
