The Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP) at National Central University offers international students an opportunity to gain hands-on research experience in neuroscience and neuropsychiatry. Our laboratory focuses on two major research areas: (1) the effects of environmental toxicants, such as microplastics and air pollutants, on brain function and behavior, and (2) the neural mechanisms underlying social, emotional, and cognitive behaviors. We employ a multidisciplinary approach that integrates behavioral neuroscience, molecular biology, biochemistry, histology, bioinformatics, and animal behavioral studies to investigate how environmental factors and neural circuits influence brain health and behavior. Through this program, participants will join ongoing research projects and receive structured training in experimental techniques, scientific thinking, and data analysis within an active international research environment.
Participants will undergo laboratory orientation and safety training, followed by hands-on experience in animal behavioral experiments, molecular and histological techniques, data analysis workshops, journal clubs, and weekly seminars. The program duration is flexible from 3–6 months and is open to undergraduate and master’s students in life sciences, biomedical sciences, neuroscience, psychology, or related fields. Participants may receive a monthly stipend of approximately NTD 15,000–20,000. By joining TEEP at National Central University, students will strengthen their laboratory skills, scientific literacy, and interdisciplinary research abilities while building international academic connections and experiencing research and culture in Taiwan.
