This program centers on the historic military site of Yilan Air Raid Shelter Hangars, integrating the three key themes of Defense Resilience, Military Heritage Tourism, and Local Sustainability into a comprehensive internship and research experience in Taiwan. Through field studies, guided tour design, community engagement, and case analysis, participants will explore how former military facilities can be reinterpreted and revitalized in contemporary society.
The program aims to strengthen understanding of national and community resilience, develop culturally meaningful and educational approaches to military heritage tourism, and promote sustainable local development. Interns will engage in hands-on activities such as cultural asset documentation, tourism route planning, international promotion strategies, and collaboration with local stakeholders.
By combining academic insight with practical experience, this program seeks to cultivate participants’ cross-cultural communication skills and professional competencies, while contributing to innovative and sustainable development models for the Yilan region. International students are warmly invited to join this program and explore the dynamic intersection of history, resilience, and local revitalization.
