This project will invite undergraduate or graduate students to participate in research
internship at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Taiwan, supported by Taiwan
Experience Education Program (TEEP) from the Ministry of Education. The internship focuses on
“Agentic artificial intelligence for causal inference in clinical research,” which aligns with
Taiwan’s strategic industries in Digital and Smart Health.
Participants will gain hands-on experience in utilizing common platforms to streamline artificial
intelligence (AI) agents, causal inference using routinely collected data, and their applications in
clinical research, through ongoing projects under Emily Chia-Yu Su as the principal investigator
(PI). Training includes mentorship from the PI, postdoctoral researchers, and senior graduate students
students, exposure to multidisciplinary research environments, and opportunities to
collaborate on developing a clinical research ideation tool empowered by agentic AI.
The internship aims to cultivate future talents who may pursue graduate studies in Taiwan and
foster long-term academic collaboration in digital health and AI innovation. Scholarships and
accommodation arrangements will be provided according to TEEP guidelines.
