Application of Nanocatalytic Electrodes Coupled with Advanced Oxidation Processes for Treatment and Resource Recovery of Industrial Wastewater

Nanomaterial Applications; Electrochemical Reactors; Degradation and Recovery Performance

This program aims to develop high-performance nanocatalytic electrodes combined with advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) for the removal of pollutants and resource recovery from real industrial wastewater. The electrodes are fabricated using physical vapor deposition (PVD), and their physicochemical properties and electrocatalytic activity are characterized. Furthermore, a pilot-scale electrochemical reactor integrated with AOPs is employed to evaluate the removal efficiency of heavy metals and organic pollutants. The effects of operating parameters on removal efficiency, energy consumption, and by-product formation are also investigated.

This program aims to establish technical indicators and engineering operating parameters for the integration of nanocatalytic electrodes with advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), to evaluate the feasibility of pollutant transformation and metal recovery, and to promote interdisciplinary collaboration between materials science and environmental engineering for the advancement of sustainable technologies.
