Department of Child and Family Studies, Fu Jen Catholic University (FJU)
Focusing on Life-span Well-being
In response to the global trend of aging societies, our department focuses on helping people of all ages—from infancy to old age. Our goal is to promote physical and mental health, strong family relationships, and social support. We train professionals for early childhood education, family education, and health planning for all ages.
Learning and Practice
As a student, you will study in the same classrooms as local students. You will also visit professional institutions together for hands-on learning.
*On-Campus Resource: Our department has its own affiliated kindergarten, which is the best place for on-site practice.
*Off-Campus Opportunities: We have a wide network for internships and visits, including infant care centers, kindergartens, parent-child centers, grandparent-grandchild centers, the educational toy industry, and health-related organizations.
Research and Community Projects
Students can join exciting projects with our professors, such as:
*Family Food and Agriculture Education: Researching how families learn about food and nature.
*Urban Indigenous Culture (USR Project): Helping indigenous families through creative work like picture books, radio, and podcasts, including trips to indigenous tribes.
*Community Service: Joining our "Family Care Empowerment Station" or helping at summer/winter camps for children’s life education.
Program Duration: Minimum of two months and a maximum of six months.
