We invite outstanding international students to join a cutting-edge research program in Taiwan focused on traumatic brain injury (TBI), with an emphasis on biomarker discovery and precision diagnosis. As a major global health challenge—particularly in aging populations—TBI often presents diagnostic difficulties due to subtle or undetectable changes in conventional neuroimaging. This program aims to address these challenges through innovative, multidisciplinary research.
Participants will explore the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying TBI-induced neurodegeneration using advanced technologies, including single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), metabolomics, and neuroimaging. The project seeks to identify early biomarkers of neuroinflammation, axonal damage, and neural decline, ultimately contributing to the development of clinically relevant diagnostic tools and disease stratification strategies.
This program is collaboratively hosted by leading research institutions in Taiwan, including Taipei Medical University, the National Health Research Institutes, Academia Sinica, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, and Chang Gung University. Students will receive comprehensive, hands-on training in biomedical research and data analysis within a dynamic and internationally connected research environment.
The internship duration is six months and includes a monthly living allowance of NT$15,000. Applications are open to current students and recent graduates in life science–related fields. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong interest in pursuing advanced studies or research opportunities in Taiwan.
