About the Program

Join us for an intensive 3-month research internship at the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering (CSIE), National Chin-Yi University of Technology (NCUT). Funded by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education under the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP), this initiative invites outstanding international students to dive into the practical applications of Artificial Intelligence and High-Performance Computing (HPC) in one of the world's leading tech hubs.

Core Research Tracks

Interns will be integrated into our laboratory’s research roadmap, with a focus on parallel computing principles and hands-on system development. You will have the opportunity to engage deeply in one of the following domains:

AI for Smart Manufacturing & Production Management: Contribute to developing heterogeneous manufacturing management integrators. Projects include analyzing real-world Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production data and building power-aware state algorithms that accurately distinguish processing time from auxiliary operations (e.g., cleaning or preparation), thereby driving true Industrial 4.0 optimization.

AI for Precision Health (Disease Diagnosis): Apply advanced deep learning and computer vision techniques to medical diagnostics. Work on intelligent analysis of physiological signals and imaging in sleep medicine, aiming to create rapid, low-cost early-screening solutions.

HPC & Distributed Systems Innovation: Build a solid foundation in parallel and distributed computing through structured pedagogical designs. Participate in the deployment and optimization of containerized virtual infrastructure (using Docker and Kubernetes) to achieve dynamic resource allocation.

What We Offer

Duration: at least 3 Months.

Scholarship: 15,000 NTD per person to comfortably cover a part of living expenses in Taiwan.

Mentorship: Direct guidance from senior faculty, weekly lab seminars, and hands-on experience with our customized research and project management workflows.

Who Should Apply

International graduate students or senior undergraduate students majoring in Computer Science, Information Engineering, or related fields.

Candidates with strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Java/Spring Boot).

Experience with AI frameworks (TensorFlow/PyTorch) or container technologies is highly preferred.

Proactive learners eager to immerse themselves in Taiwan’s academic and technological ecosystem.
