Project Overview

This project provides international students with the opportunity to participate in a research-based internship at the Department of Information Management, National Chung Cheng University. The internship focuses on AI and mental health, exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), data science, and clinical psychiatry in understanding and predicting mental disorders from social media data. By integrating machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP) methods with ethical and clinical considerations, the project aims to promote the responsible application of AI in mental health contexts. The program also offers hands-on research experience, academic exposure, and cross-cultural exchange in Taiwan.

Scholarship and Costs

Interns will receive a monthly stipend of NTD 12,000, which may be used to cover accommodation and return airfare. On-campus dormitory accommodation will be arranged by the university. Additional details will be provided upon acceptance.

Duration and Schedule

The program runs from 2026/06/01 to 2026/12/31, with a minimum participation duration of 2 months and a maximum of 6 months. The schedule includes research activities, industry visits, and an opportunity to learn Mandarin.

Applicants should meet the following minimum criteria:

• Academic background: Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Data Mining, or related fields

• Current status: Undergraduate or master’s student

• Language proficiency: Proficiency in English

• Programming skills: Proficiency in Python

Additional Information

Interns are expected to actively engage in research activities, collaborate with team members, and complete assigned tasks. A certificate of completion will be awarded upon successful completion of the program.
