◆Program Director: Professor Hsiao-Yean Chiu, an expert in Critical Care, Delirium Care, Insomnia Management, and Technology-Assisted Interventions, serves as Professor and Director of the School of Nursing and Vice Dean of the College of Nursing. She has led numerous multi-year research projects funded by the National Science and Technology Council and has extensive experience in international collaborative research. This program aims to recruit international students to cultivate academic talent, address clinical challenges, and contribute to global health and rational medication use.
◆Program Overview: This program seeks to recruit international master’s or doctoral nursing students with a clinical background to participate in a six-month intensive training program (a minimum duration of 2 months). Grounded in the principles of Behavioral Sleep Medicine, the program provides structured, hands-on training in planning and delivering short-term behavioral interventions for sleep problems. Participants will develop practical educational materials and standardized operating procedures (SOPs) that can be implemented in healthcare settings.
Core competencies include:
(1)Mastering the four key behavioral sleep strategies,
(2)Developing structured, prescription-based communication skills,
(3)Monitoring patient adherence to behavioral interventions,
(4)Producing a ready-to-use educational toolkit, including: Counseling scripts, Sleep diaries and tracking forms, Patient education handouts and infographics, A 10–15 minute presentation module,
(5) Designing quality improvement plans and outcome evaluations.
The ultimate goal is to reduce the incidence of insomnia and decrease reliance on sedative-hypnotic medications through education and behavioral change.

◆Scholarship: Participants will receive a monthly scholarship of NTD 20,000 to support living expenses during their stay in Taiwan.
