This program addresses one of the biggest hurdles in renewable energy: making Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) cleaner and its residues useful. Interns will work on a pioneering circular model that uses agricultural and industrial waste (like shells and sludge) to: Inhibit toxic pollutants (Dioxins/POPs) during combustion. Transform ash into high-value building materials (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete - AAC). What You Will Work On Depending on your background, your work may include SRF feedstock preparation and characterization, combustion experiments with waste-based inhibitor additives, pollutant analysis using advanced instrumentation (XRF, EA, TGA, IC, and GC-MS), ash washing and treatment procedures, and autoclaved aerated concrete preparation and testing. What You Will Gain Hands-on training in world-class laboratory facilities, experience with internationally published research methods in air pollution control and waste-to-energy systems, mentorship from Prof. Lin-Chi Wang — a leading expert in dioxin reduction and waste combustion — and the opportunity to co-author research outputs from the project. Funding & Costs This internship is supported by the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP), which provides a scholarship covering a monthly stipend, round-trip airfare, and accommodation assistance. Successful applicants will have minimal out-of-pocket costs during their stay in Taiwan. Duration & Schedule Minimum 4 months. Flexible start dates are available — please contact us to discuss your availability.
