This project aims to recruit undergraduate students with a background in physics to participate in a six-month internship, with a monthly scholarship of NTD 15,000, focusing on research related to liquid crystal materials for optoelectronic applications. The main research topics are as follows: Fabrication of Electrically Tunable Optical Lenses and Lens Arrays This research focuses on the development of electrically controlled zoom optical components that eliminate the need for mechanical focusing mechanisms. Such devices offer significant potential for thin, lightweight, and energy-efficient designs, with applications in next-generation optical imaging and display systems. Self-Assembly and Alignment of Organic Semiconductor Crystals and Liquid Crystal Materials This topic investigates interfacial interactions and self-assembly behavior between organic semiconductor substrates and liquid crystal molecules. The goal is to establish effective techniques for controlling material alignment and to expand their applications in optoelectronic devices. Applications of Organic Semiconductor and Liquid Crystal Materials in Chemical and Biosensors This research involves the development of high-sensitivity chemical and biosensors based on organic semiconductor and liquid crystal materials, with potential applications in biomedical diagnostics and environmental monitoring. Students who demonstrate outstanding performance during the internship will be recommended to apply for the International Master’s Program in the College of Science at our university. They will also have the opportunity to apply for industry-sponsored scholarships from partner companies.
