This TEEP program aims to cultivate international young talents in clinical proteomics and metabolomics, focusing on their application to precision medicine for lung diseases, particularly lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The program is hosted by the Master Program in Clinical Genomics and Proteomics, College of Pharmacy, Taipei Medical University. The primary target countries for student recruitment include Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines, focusing on highly motivated students with backgrounds in biomedical sciences, biology, chemistry, or bioinformatics. Students from other countries are also welcome. The program duration will be 2-4 months of fieldwork and laboratory internship in Taiwan from June to September 2026. Program Objectives (1) Capacity Building in Clinical Omics Research The program provides intensive training in mass spectrometry–based proteomics and metabolomics workflows, including sample preparation, LC-MS/MS data acquisition, and bioinformatic analysis for biomarker discovery. Students will learn to integrate multi-omics datasets to elucidate molecular mechanisms of lung cancer and COPD. (2) Cross-disciplinary Translational Training Participants will gain hands-on experience in translational proteomics, diagnostic development, and quantitative biomarker validation. This will bridge the gap between fundamental molecular research and clinical application. (3) International Research Networking The program promotes scientific and cultural exchange between Taiwan and Southeast Asian institutions, encouraging long-term research partnerships and capacity development for precision medicine in the region.
