This program aims to recruit international graduate students and early-career researchers from Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, and other countries to participate in a research-oriented training program under the Ministry of Education (MOE) Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP). The participation period is at least 2 month and may extend up to 3 months, subject to discussion and mutual agreement. Applicants should have basic English communication skills and an interest in environmental engineering, material science/engineering, and chemical engineering. The program focuses on the development of low-carbon and high-efficiency catalytic systems for plastic waste valorization. Participants will engage in cutting-edge research on catalytic processes including pyrolysis, hydrothermal liquefaction, depolymerization, and photocatalysis, with the goal of converting plastic waste into value-added fuels, chemicals, and functional materials (e.g., adsorbents and sensors). Through interdisciplinary training, this program integrates concepts from green chemistry, catalysis engineering, and circular economy, aiming to address global challenges related to plastic waste management and carbon neutrality. Participants will gain hands-on experience in: 1. Catalyst synthesis and materials characterization (e.g., surface area, porosity, and structural analysis) 2. Reaction system operation and performance evaluation 3. Data analysis and interpretation for catalytic processes In addition, the program includes: 1. Technical seminars and research discussions with international collaborators 2. Site visits to renewable energy and waste recycling facilities 3. Opportunities for international research collaboration and networking This program is expected to strengthen international research partnerships and enhance participants’ expertise in sustainable materials and environmental catalysis.
