This program is hosted by the Environmental Nano-Materials Research Laboratory at National Chung Hsing University, under the supervision of Lifetime Distinguished Professor Yao-Tung Lin, a leading expert in environmental nanomaterials, circular economy, and net-zero technology innovation. The program is closely aligned with Taiwan’s national net-zero strategy and the Taiwan Science and Technology Office for Net-zero Emission (T-STONE), focusing on integrating AI-driven materials design, sustainable biomass valorization, and advanced environmental technologies. Key research areas include functional biopolymers, waste-to-resource conversion, carbon-negative materials, and intelligent environmental systems. Participants will engage in interdisciplinary research combining hands-on laboratory experiments, AI-assisted analysis, and sustainability assessment tools, such as life-cycle assessment (LCA) and carbon footprint evaluation. The program aims to cultivate globally competitive researchers capable of addressing critical challenges in climate change, the circular economy, and green innovation. Scholarships: Participants will receive a monthly scholarship ranging from NTD 12,000 to NTD 16,000, depending on research performance and contributions, in accordance with TEEP program guidelines. Costs: Participants are responsible for their own international travel, accommodation fees, and personal living expenses not covered by the scholarship. Accommodation Arrangements: On-campus dormitory accommodation is available upon request. Participants are required to cover the dormitory fees. Schedule / Duration: The program duration is 3 to 6 months. Participation Requirements: Applicants should be currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students with academic backgrounds in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural Chemistry, or related fields. Candidates should demonstrate strong motivation in sustainability, circular economy, or environmental technologies, with basic laboratory skills and English communication ability. PhD Pathway Opportunity: Outstanding participants who demonstrate strong research capability, academic potential, and commitment during the internship will be prioritized for admission into future graduate programs (especially Ph.D. programs) at National Chung Hsing University. Selected candidates may receive guidance on preparing research proposals, planning publications, and applying for scholarships. This pathway is designed to support a seamless transition from short-term research training to long-term academic development and international research collaboration. Additional Considerations: Participants are expected to engage in research actively, attend weekly group meetings, and contribute to academic outputs, including technical reports, conference presentations, and SCI journal publications. High-performing participants will have opportunities to be involved in ongoing international collaborations and advanced research projects.
