This research internship offers an immersive introduction to the interdisciplinary fields of soft robotics, mechanical & mechatronic design, and finite element analysis. The candidate should be an undergraduate student studying mechanical engineering with a specialization in robotics and mechatronics. He or she is expected to practice the design and analysis, and perform the fabrication and experimental testing. The internship duration is 11 weeks (from 20 May to 5 Aug, 2026). The monthly stipend is capped at NT$20,000, subject to the approved budget. Work scope during the period of your internship includes: 1. Feasibility of integrating MEMS into soft robotics 2. Finite Element Simulation of MEMS actuators 3. Design and fabrication of soft robotic gripper 4. Testing and experiments of object grasping with soft robotics 5. Oral presentation to the group and written report at the end of the internship
