The Public Health Program at KMU offers multidiscipline courses and practice opportunities. The goals of this program are to foster students with multi-dimensional public health knowledge and to prepare students with abilities and passion to face, solve and mitigate public health challenges. KMU is affiliated with four hospitals and is located in Taiwan’s largest industrial city, providing an excellent environment for real-world public health practice. Through this program, students will develop strong research capabilities and gain hands-on experience in the field of public health. In addition, this program promotes the exchange of health and research experiences between KMU and the countries in South Asia, thereby strengthening global collaboration in education and public health and enhancing international visibility. Our faculty members are actively engaged in teaching, research and public health practice in epidemiology, health policy and behavior, environmental health, and occupational disease prevention. They offer valuable guidance and support to students throughout the program. The length of this program can be 3 – 6 months. Students will participate in research groups and attend courses during this period to fulfill the requirement of completion of a project report and a reflection report at the end of the internship. Applicants with a background in public health who are able to commit to at least 14 months will be given priority consideration. Eligible students may receive a monthly stipend of NT$15,000 to NT$20,000. There is also the possibility of future enrollment in the Department of Public Health at KMU.
