Our laboratory in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine, National Dong Hwa University, is offering a 2-month Summer Internship Program during June and July 2026 for motivated undergraduate students with a background in biology or related life sciences. The laboratory focuses on Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) research, with particular interest in understanding how EBV interacts with host cellular factors to establish persistent infection and contribute to disease. Current research in the lab includes studies on virus–host interactions, EBV latency, molecular mechanisms underlying EBV-associated Hunner's lesion, and the identification of biomarkers, therapeutic targets, and potential anti-EBV strategies. This internship is designed to provide students with exposure to an active research environment and an opportunity to develop research skills in the biological sciences. Depending on the assigned work and ongoing projects in the laboratory, participants may gain experience in laboratory techniques, experimental design, data interpretation, scientific discussion, and research presentation. The internship duration is a minimum of 2 months and will be conducted during June and July 2026. Accommodation will be provided for selected participants. A stipend may also be provided, and the amount will be determined based on the qualifications of the selected candidates. We are seeking undergraduate students from a biology or related life science background who have good English proficiency and a strong interest in research. Applicants should be responsible, motivated, and able to actively participate in laboratory activities throughout the full internship period. This program is suitable for students who wish to gain hands-on experience in a research laboratory and strengthen their academic foundation in biomedical and molecular life sciences.
