I. Research Overview: Cancer cell secretomes are well documented to promote tumor invasiveness through inflammatory mediators, with intercellular communication playing a critical role in tumor progression and metastasis. Increasing evidence indicates that extracellular vesicles are closely associated with tumorigenesis and cancer progression. Golgi-associated tethering factors are key regulators of Golgi structure and intracellular transport pathways, and their dysfunction can markedly alter cellular secretion profiles while enhancing cancer cell migration and invasion. Our laboratory aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying secretome remodeling during cancer progression, with a particular focus on how disruption of Golgi-regulated trafficking influences selective protein secretion. The precise mechanisms governing this process remain largely unclear, providing an important opportunity for further investigation. II. Applicant Qualifications: 1. Applicants must have earned credit in biochemistry, cell biology, or molecular biology and provide transcripts for reference. 2. Applicants should be undergraduate or master’s students majoring in the life sciences. Applicants majoring in medical technology are preferred. 3. Applicants should submit a résumé, college transcripts, one letter of recommendation, and any other relevant documents for review. 4. Participants are expected to attend weekly group meetings to facilitate peer discussion and enhance the learning experience. 5. We encourage participants to join this program during the summer vacation period (starting in June). III. Details regarding fees and scholarship Each TEEP program participant will receive a monthly scholarship of NT$15,000. Except for participants from Europe and America, the program does not provide additional airfare (some participants may receive full reimbursement). The program allows participants to stay in Taiwan for up to six months.
